This Advent season we will highlight some of the groups that use our facilities. Sharing the use of our building is one of the missions of this congregation. This week we highlight a group that meets once a month during the school year.
Brian Runyon is a friend of the church (his brother, Keith, is an Elder and our drummer). He has his own business, Brian Runyon Martial Arts, where he teaches various forms of self-defense. He also has a Christian band - Remnants Altar.
But the main reason Brian is highlighted this week is that once a month he gives his time to teach some “moves” to a group of special students from Hernando High School.
A few of us have been at the church when Brian has been taking the young men and women through their exercises. It is obvious that they are all having a great time as Brian and his son teach and assist the class.
Love fills the fellowship hall. The love that Brian has for the students in his class and the love they return toward him.
I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another John 13:34
Our mission to share our building is, in this case, helping to live out this commandment.
